Between the billions of unique guns, deep skill trees, and supporting gear like shields, class mods, and enhancements, Borderlands 4 offers players the lion’s share of builds available to them. While Borderlands 4 players can craft a build that supports as complex a playstyle as they want, some players may just want to destroy everything on their screen with a single click. Luckily, the game makes this possible for Rafa players, as the Exo-Solider has one build that stacks damage on damage and only requires one button to do so.
There are a few crucial components to make this build work, some of which may require players to farm bosses using Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine. As such, players won’t be able to skate through the entire game by only pressing one button, but once the pieces come together, this build should do the work for them. The skill tree investments are also important for this build, so players can start preparing this build on that front from the get-go.
Borderlands 4 Let's Rafa Players Wipe Enemies Without Ever Firing a Gun
How to Achieve the 1-Button Rafa Build
- Peacebreaker Cannons Action Skill (Red Skill Tree)
- Firewerks Legendary Shield (Drops from Splashzone)
- Filantropo Legendary Class Mod (Drops from Primordial Guardian Inceptus)
The basis of the 1-button Rafa build starts with his Peacebreaker Cannons Action Skill, which fires two auto-cannons while active. To support this Action Skill, Borderlands 4 Rafa players will want to invest in passives like Juerga to restore Action Skill duration, Instinto to increase their Crit Chance, and Double-Ought Onslaught capstone to give the Peacebreaker Cannon’s shots a chance to ricochet. With investments in these skills, players lay the groundwork for the rest of this build to trigger.
- Juerga
- Whenever Rafa Critically Hits an enemy, Action Skill Duration is restored.
- Instinto
- Rafa’s Peacebreaker Cannons gain increased Critical Hit Chance.
- Pressing Action Skill while Peacebreaker Cannons are active causes them to double their Critical Hit Chance and gain increased Critical Hit Damage, while also causing his Action Duration to drain faster.
- Kill Skill. Killing an enemy causes Rafa to restore Action Skill Duration, while also causing his Action Skill Duration to drain faster.
- Double-Ought Onslaught
- Rafa’s Peacebreaker Cannons are replaced with Shotguns that deal increased Damage and have an increased Pellet Count. Additionally, Rafa’s Turrets gain a chance to Ricochet off of targets. Ricochets deal Reduced Damage, and Critical Hits always Ricochet.
The Firewerks Legendary Shield is another key piece of this build, as it launches homing missiles at enemies whenever the player gets a kill. Players can get this shield fairly early in the game by farming Splashzone, the Ripper boss found in the Fadefields. To round out this setup, Rafa players will want to equip the Filantropo Legendary Class Mod that causes a grenade to spawn every time their Action Skill is retriggered. This Class Mod may be a bit tougher to find, since it has a chance to drop from Primordial Guadrian Inceptus in the Fadefields Vault.
Rafa's Peacebreaker Cannons Do All the Heavy Lifting
With a single button press to activate the Peacebreaker Cannons, players can trigger a cascade of damage from their equipped gear. The Peacebreaker Cannons will automatically get kills on enemies, which then triggers the Firewerks shield’s homing missiles that can stack more kills on top of the ones Rafa’s Action Skill gets. Additionally, every time this Action Skill is retriggered, Rafa spawns a grenade that pulls from whatever grenade type the player has equipped. Equipping a grenade that spawns more grenades, like Tediore’s MIRV licensed parts do, allows players to spread even more damage across the field periodically.
While this build is perfect for quickly clearing hordes of Rippers or Order soldiers, it may struggle a bit with bosses, since it depends on kills from smaller mobs to stack damage. As such, players dedicated to only using a single button will want to lean on their equipped grenades to supplement the damage done by the Peacebreaker Cannons with an elemental type that the boss they are facing is weak to. This way, the damage over time from Corrosion or Incendiary grenades can whittle down the boss’s health bar in between Action Skill cooldowns.
Some Borderlands 4 bosses also spawn minions that players can use as fodder to activate the homing missiles effect of their Firewerks shield.
